HISTORY
One of the first things people ask is how did Three-Way get its name? We are happy to share a bit of our history. In 1956, Leonard Cormier affectionately known as “Pop Cormier” and his two sons, Leonard Jr. and Romo, purchased Motor Center Properties from Lawrence Lake. The three of them chose the name Three –Way to reflect their partnership, and that is how Three-Way Chevrolet was formed.
From 1956 to 1969 Three-Way Chevrolet was located in hub of activity on Chester Avenue in downtown Bakersfield. Chester Avenue was a great location to begin a new business – it was the main “drag” for “Cruising” on Friday and Saturday nights back in the 1950s and 1960s and even made it into a couple of movies!
Then in 1969 when the dealership out grew the Chester Avenue location, we moved what was then considered out in the country, to 3800 California Avenue where we flourished until August 2006 when we moved to our current location at 4501 Wible Road in Bakersfield, which has grown significantly since 2006 to our current 26 acres. We currently have three showrooms (Cadillac, Chevrolet, and Commercial Fleet); a Service Department with 50 stalls, manned by technicians factory trained and ready repair your vehicle.
In 2003, after 47 years as a premier Chevrolet dealership, we were lucky to purchase a franchise and add Cadillac to our store, offering additional luxury to our already superior Chevrolet line.

We take these words seriously and do our best to provide each client whether a customer or another employee with the assistance or information they need.
We make every effort to ensure that each vehicle purchase is offered the best guidance and assistance throughout the process and that each client is offered help in learning the new features of their vehicle and how to properly use them. Our goal is to serve you from our greeting on the lot through the entire process, and long past our wave goodbye when you drive away – we will be here when you call to ask questions or schedule service appointments – WE’RE HERE TO HELP! And we’d like to exceed your expectations! Please let us know if we have met your expectations – and perhaps more importantly, if we could do better.
For our employees, our goal is to have a workplace that is happy, competent, and helpful, where employees have access to additional training to assist them in their jobs and to ensure their personal growth as well as to ensure their compliance with all safety, state and federal mandated training. A few years ago, every employee participated in Disney Training – who better to teach than the folks from “The Happiest Place on Earth!”
For 60 years we have supported numerous worthwhile organizations and individuals helping them to achieve their diverse goals, and we are currently focused on something special that we believe will benefit the entire community for years to come.
